Got a text from CK yesterday, he was going fishing, I could tag along.
I jumped at the chance to learn from a C.C Crappie legend, plus his knowledge of local creeks, creeks that have frustrated me many times . WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY!!!
My alarm went off at 4:45am, CK said "be there at 6". I knew not to be late, lest he sail without me.
Mike was precisely on time, as I expected from such a pro. Boy was I getting excited.
I took my appropriate back seat in his Crappie Pro Extreme rig, Bracing for the G forces when he put the hammer down.
Thankfully the 40 hp Merc took it easy on me.
Mike put us on his 1st molasses hole brush pile. I nervously hooked a minnow on my hook and waited. I was NOT going to cast first, possibly evoking the CK wrath I've heard about at the ramp.
CK tossed in a plump minnow after hooking the minnow through the back. Dorsal fin area. WOW I said, I thought that would kill the minnow. I hooked mine through the lips, ROOKIE MOVE.
It was slow at first but eventually the bites came,
I got a bite , Landed a Crappie
I got a bite, Landed a Crappie
I got a bite, Landed a Crappie
I got a bite, Landed a Crappie
Mike got a bite, Missed it.....

This is pretty much how the day went
Mike did come on strong after I was out of baitMy day with CK

CK got 8
I got 14

Mike slammed a nice bass

I gave Mike a classic shirt hoping he'd take the hint to stick with perch.

Had a great day out there
