I'm a bass fisherman first so off we went this morning. But no wind and clear water left us scratching our heads at lunch. I rode over to our dock. I had tied up some minnows a week ago. So after we ate we decided to give it a try. The first spot had fish but we only caught 3-4. Went to the next brush pile and found them willing to bite. One of the better days Ive had in a while. 27 of our 30 came off that spot. And our best 7 weighed 12.5 lbs.
So the crappie totally saved our trip. Most all had eggs. Fished near fishing village. Water was very clear and about 61 degrees. All on minnows. 6-8 ft down in 15-18 ft.

Nice catch!
Nice mess of fish. Glad you were able to find them. Thanks for the report and pics.
Nice! Ive always been a fan of the Hill. Caught a 3lb crappie about 9 years ago on a shad rap, while fishing a National Bass Circuit tourney. Kept it in the livewell for about an hour, then i decided to release it. Wished i had measured it for a replica now! lol
