    Default Lake Wateree 2/8/17

Well I tried to see if I could catch a few of the infamous Wateree crappie and a few is all I caught, lol, of which 2 i lost at the boat. Water temp was 52-53 when I got on the lake at 10 and close to 56 when I left. I would like to personally thank micorp for the help in locating an area to start in as I have never been on the lake, definetly going to go back and long line this lake when the time is right. No pics because, well, I only had one in the box, and I have a big box in my boat so you probably couldn't have seen him anyways, lol.

Stay after them, never a wasted trip when you are learning the lake. Good luck on fishing Wateree.

Well dang, saturday will be my first time to Wateree as well if i go there instead of Santee. Thats the way im leaning right now. Plus, its a 1/2 hour closer drive for me. I plan to tight line minnows and will likely start at the mouth of wateree creek depending on what i find on electronics. Hopefully you will find them next time!

They had had a lot of rain the night before I went, so the fish were tight to structure I believe. Don't let my outing deter you, they can be caught just find the right place and feel the livewell.

Well that's good to know. Looks like that lake keeps a lot of color after the rains.
