    Question Hard to believe

I was planning to try the perch/crappie Friday, but..... Took my GKs and son to Dooleys Sports Shop for breakfast this morning and met a friend who fishes Bass Tournaments, but does others as well. He was on his way back to Murray for Shellcrackers. He and a friend got 50 yesterday, all in 2 FOW! We fish for them in Feb-March but I never imagined them this shallow in December.
So now I am flipping coins trying to decide which to try. Simple answer may be both, we'll see.
Hard to think of them this shallow.

Some real whoppers are caught in Santee during the winter months as well. Not my speciality, but I've seen and heard of great results, especially in the deep holes in Stumphole woods and in creek and river channels.

I find it hard to believe that they would be that shallow this time of year too, but with this warm weather we've been having I'm sure they are just as confused as we are. I might try it a while Friday morning myself. I hope I can get on some good ones.

They do get shallow this time of year, I've got two friends that cruise to the back of the coves and sight fish for them, on Murray in the mid-lake area.

HeyTim,yea that is where my friend Henry fishes. That's why I was surprised to see him catching crappie there. He fishes almost exclusively for bream and Shellcrackers. He fishes in 6-8 FOW, bout all there is in Stumphole.

One of them not named Herman is he? I'm heading your way Friday, you planning on fishing then?

No not Herman, two guys from Cayce that I worked with, and I doubt that I'll go out tomorrow after all these fronts came through. They fish near the Lexington County Law Enforcement Hut area which is a lot clearer water then up here. They will go in and find them then back off and throw worms on the bottom with a light weight and maybe a cork with the stopper out of it as an bite indicator.

Well things didn't work out for me to go today. First, my son who was going with me got called to a job site, then my wife came down with nausea but the main thing was the forecast for 15-20 MPH winds. Boat is sitting outside hooked to my car wondering where I am. Guess it'll have to wait for better conditions.

We're at N. Myrtle. I went up to Dicks sporting goods a while ago. 48 degrees and 20-25 mph wind! I didn't stay out long. It's COLD!
