Another great trip with the fish biting. Picked up live shad from Jimmy Jones this morning & headed to Colonel's creek. Ran up river a little ways till we saw a lot of birds. Dropped bait down to about 24'. Caught 4 stripers about 16" so we moved on up to mouth of June creek. Before we got 3 rods out, we had a fish on. We were drifting with the wind in about 24'. Caught about 6 before we drifted the first 20 yards. Marked a lot on fish just off the bottom, so we were dropping the sinkers to the bottom & reeling up about 3 turns.

We tried several plastic baits but all the fish wanted was live bait.

Total for trip was 1 large mouth bass at 6 lbs, 2 small cats & about 22 stripers. Kinda of lost count so we started releasing fish after we thought we had our limit.. We had several times when we had 2 fish on at the same time. Largest striper was 24", about 12 stripers 21 to 22" & rest about 16". Ran out of bait about 12 so we loaded up for the trip home.
Missed a bunch more for some reason.

Charles, We were South of you, we put in at June. Also had 12-15 short bites, you'd grab the rod and the fish was gone.

we had the same problem, lot of bites but no hook up, We had to have seen you out there, just didn't know who you were. Now that I think about it, I think we saw you, you waved at us .
