Yep, I hit it a couple of times. I also found the Summerton Dinner on 301. About 7 miles from where I stayed. Real honest to goodness down home country cooking and great wait staff. Definitely worth the trip.
Only problem is all my clothes apparently shrunk in the heat and humidity. Yea, that had to be it.
By the way, for those not familiar with Lone Starr BBQ, the little town of Lone Star about 15 miles up from Santee became a ghost town years ago. A local developer (Pat Williams) bought all the town buildings and moved them down to their current location in Santee and made them into the restaurant.

Summerton Dinero is good. When we made our yearly run down there we ate there alot.
Lone Star is great. We ate there a time or 2.
We stay around Goat Island Resort and eat at there some too.
I sure do need to get back down that way soon too.
I haven't fished Santee in a about 6 yrs now.
Thank a Veteran every chance you get.

Ya'll want some good bbq, you need to hit Duke's in Orangeburg. The one on Whitman Street.
