    Default Wylie 8-12-16

Got out for a couple of hours this morning fishing for perch using minnows & spoons. I caught 12 perch & 15 cats. I tried some cut bream & live bream but the only thing that got bites were the minnows & gold spoons. Tried several spots on Big Allison & 1 on Little Allison. Marked a bunch of stuff but did not find any hot spots.

Probally should have just drifted with minnows for cats but it gets too hot too quick.

Brett, your right about the cats, they are biting fast. We started out yesterday with about 15 and moved after 30 minutes to look for the perch. They are everywhere and biting good it seemed. I just hope they don't bite Saturday night.

Charles, I hope you do come out and fish some with us.

. Is the catfish bite normal for Wylie? In all my years of fishing I've never seen them being caught in such high numbers just casually fishing. They are biting like I expect Bream or Perch to bite.

Ray, they are active for sure! May be because of the old saying of dog days! The hotter it is the better the bite.
I remember camping out on the river banks at night as a kid. Just propping a rod up on a forked stick and catching them till early morning hours on worms and cut bait.

Charles has the better idea fishing early morning and getting back home before it gets to hot.
