Operation North State Info and schedule
I fished Thursday in the Lake Norman event had a great time didn't catch much.
My Vet had a great time just being on the water.
Here's your chance to help a Disabled Vet.
Guys, here's your chance.
I know most of you don't live in NC but these guys and gals fought for all of us.
I'm sure I can get some information as to where/what to fish from a guide or two for the event.
You are receiving this email because we have you confirmed as a Host Boater for the April 28th Badin Lake Top Shelf Fishin’ Festival. If that’s not your understanding, please let me know. Now that we have wrapped up a big-time at the Lake Norman TSFF this past Thursday, we are now heads down on the Badin Lake TSFF. We are full on the wounded warrior side; we actually have a waiting list. We also have the Specialized Impatient PTSD Team patients from the VAMC in Salisbury bringing 15 guys and gals. They have one special need; they have to be back at the ramp by 11:30 AM for their meal and meds. Let me know if you can handle a second person on your boat; you will bring the VAMC patient in at 11:30 and then go back out and fish with your other wounded warrior / DVet for the remainder for the Festival – weigh-in at 3PM.
Help spread the word; we have 20 Host Boater spots to fill. Some of the Lake Norman Host Boaters are going to join us on Badin; they had blast Thursday.
Below are some of the comments from this past Thursday’s Lake Norman TSFF; you are making a difference! And, when you see the name Terry below, that’s includes your efforts too.
“Your organization has given me a way to deal with things and has prevented divorce and suicide with me. I forgot how much I love the outdoors until I did the lake Norman fishing festival last year. So I am extremely thankful to you.”
“Hey, I'd honestly like to thank you for setting up this fishing tournament. Sunburnt face and my bad fishing ability being exposed aside, I had an absolute blast! It was the stress relief that I needed! Keep doing what you're doing, as this is incredibly helpful!”
“Thank you Terry, I really enjoyed the whole experience. You put on a great event and I also made a new friend. “
“Thanks for doing all of this and having the vision to create these festivals! My Boater was awesome!”
Reminder: the 2013 Badin Lake Top Shelf Fishin’ Festival is where all this “much-needed “ recreational therapy” started – let’s keep it going and growing. It’s not an easy task given we have such a small population in the area to pull support from but we keep finding a way. And, we catch some really quality fish every year. The wounded warriors and DVets love fishing Badin Lake.
Share the attachments with everyone. We’re still in need of some door prizes, cash and bringing in the remaining host boaters. We’re about 75% there. I’ll provide another update later this week.
We have one WWII Vet from Asheboro whose truck has died that told me a few days ago he will be at Badin if he has to start walking a few days early to get there; AND, he means it. Last year, for the Jordan Lake TSFF, he drove down 3-4 days early and stayed in the campground just so he wouldn’t miss the Festival.
Thanks!
Terry
