Default CK Wylie 3/22/2016 Lake Wylie Long Line.

I said this year I was going to give long line a good try. This is probably my 6th time out including last year and this year. Started fishing at 9:15 and stopped 2:45. Got my first limit long line. 6 poles in the middle with 1/8th jigs with two outside with 1/16th. White and Chartreuse on the 1/8th and black and Chartreuse on the 1/16th jigs. Started Big Allison and had to fish deep. I was in 23 feet of water trying to get down to 15 to 16 feet. Had to go .7 with 1/8th to get down. never had a double I was just picking them up one at a time. I had one streak of 5 that got off at the surface. That was frustrating. I saw small schools hanging around the bottom with laydowns so I went over them. I just kept on picking them off one by one. 1:00 I went to Little Allison to try a choke point and it paid off with some big ones. Same thing .7 or .8 in 20 foot water. Only caught one on the 1/16th jig
I learned some things that I hope will payoff in the future. 20 fish total weight was 19.10 pounds. Found some big Daddy Slabs. Quality was good today. Not many chips. I think smallest kept was 10 inches.
Second fish had to make sure it was 8 inches.

Just a thought, your jigs are likely riding close to the hook point, you could bend them out some to avoid weak hook ups?
    Looks a flounder hook?
