It will get better, for sure!!!!!!Not bad for the first time.
Tangling up and crossing lines is somewhat par for the course of longlining, just watch it happen when you hook up on four or five at the same time!!!!Congrads on a Good first trip and thanks for the pictures, that water was slick calm.If I can help ya out on anything ,let me know.I almost exclusively longline.Im NO expert by any means,,but I got a lot of experience,,,sorta like those journeymen boxers,,,got a lot of fights, but no chance of winning a belt!.
thank you guys for the tips.
Brett, sounds like you had a god day of testing. Hope you learn lots and share with us what you learn.
Here's a ?
If you mix 1/16 and 1/8 oz jigs, where should you run the 1/8s
Thanks
In the water
Brett I would think below the 1/16th.
Heavier weight under lighter weight.
But that's just me thinking which could be dangerous. LoL
Sorry
I meant 3 rods using 1/16 jigs
And one rod running oz 1/8
Where do you put the heavier jig to avoid tangles?
In the center?
Stagger the rod lengths and line length and you shouldn't have much trouble if you make wide turns.
Tight turns equal a bird's nest for sure.
If I'm pulling 4 planer boards i'll be about 60-70feet across so no small coves for me
