Question Need fishing spots close to me! (Charleston, SC area)

Hey I'm new to the forums and was wondering where could I go that's not too far from Charleston, SC I live on the air force base so... Its really dreading but fishing has always been my favorite thing to do and I love catching and eating crappie. If anyone could help that'd be really helpful, thanks. I been going out all this week and everywhere we go is always salt water fishing. I'm not familiar with salt water fishing other than catching tarpon and sea stripers and a few sharks. I'm originally from Arkansas so its kinda new to me in this area.

The Santee Cooper lakes and the tailwaters are some of the best anywhere. Makes a difference whether you have a boat or not.
If you don't have a boat one of the hottest things right now near you is the Shad run in the rivers out of Santee.
Google it or someone can chime in. It can be done from shore and appears to be a lot of fun. I have never tried it.

Santee Cooper lake? Do you know the exact address where I can go fish on shore?

Santee is awesome. When I was a little younger and had more a lot more stamina, I drove 4 hours, one way, weekly to fish there. I don't know anything about the bank fishing other than you can catch a catfish just about anywhere you can get to the water's edge.
