    Default Lake Murray bluebird day

Got me some herring and shiners and slid the boat in about noon after the fog cleared. Pulled four herring and two perch rigs for three hours. I went to all the places that brettw told me to go and all I brought home was a big old SKUNK! The 5 mph wind the weatherman called for was about to start the little waves white capping, so I pulled them in about 3:15 and loaded up. The water is in good shape and is 54 degrees. Just no fish in the water.

Well, that's a surprise. I figured something would be biting. I chased the little white ball around the course today, sure was nice to be outside.

Why you think I been going to Wylie and Secession, etc. I can catch perch and shellcrackers, but crappie...not so much. But, fear not, Inkdabber has promised to make a believer out of me on crappie in Murray.

Thumper were you fishing the lower lake if so you need to go up the lake past buffalo creek and rocky creek. Most stripers are up lake. Buffalo, Rocky creek are good for stripers and crappie at certain times. Up the rivers is best right now for crappie and will only get better as it get warmer.

I was fishing beside Shull Island. I see on the map where you are talking about. I have never been up as far as Buffalo Creek. I just moved down here in May. Maybe the next pretty day I can load up and come up there. Thanks for the info.

Sounds like a tough day of striper fishing. Atleast you got a chance of being on the water and just maybe you learned a little about your "new" lake. Better luck next time.

I went Saturday and caught a mess of crappie... I didnt go up the river cause a reliable source told me the striper are so bad right now you cant pull a jig

I can tell you one thing there where 10-15 boats pulling or pushing everywhere I went....
