Well picked up my retired veteran of long service friend Bob to go fishing. We usually go to the legion and shoot pool today it is fishing. He has so many stories of his military career. 8:00 he is at Ebenezer swing by and pick him up. 8:30 lines in the water. I have 2 1/8th jigs and 6 1/16th. Well the two 1/8th at .9 are getting all the bites. So it did not take me long to add slip shot of 1/16th to make the 1/16th now 1/8th. Bam game on. It got frantic and had my first triple and some doubles with perch mixed in. Things slow down so went to 1/16th again and started to pick some more up.
White and Chartreuse and red and white were the hot colors. My go to sunny jigs. 11:30 the bite stop so we took a 10 min break and said lets get the poles in.
Reached for first pole and bam Bob got the pole and the line was peeling out real fast. Bob said what shall I do? I said looks like this spool will be empty and have to re spool With 30 feet of line left on spool it slowed down and Bob started to real some in so I frantically got all poles in now game on. Got the boat closer to fish and after 30 min to 45 min, fish and Bob was tired. Man I wanted to see what it is.Finally got it in the boat. the scale said 21 pounds.
I normally don't keep crappie this time of the year but it is helping build up confidence in long line.
Total fish in 3 hours.
Kept 25 crappie weigh 23 pounds. I only keep 10 inch and above.
23 perch. My flowers will love them.
One bass.
1 21 pound slimer.
