r2002, Cut best with a chain saw. Thumper, I also hung 'em upside down to dry before fishing with 'em. If used green for bank hooks in the river the beavers would work 'em over pretty good (didnt take long to learn that). Need to dry 'em some first. Still use some every now and then for pole beans. :) Anybody around here that has boo is more than glad to let you cut ALL YOU WANT.

Anyone who needs boo around the Lake Murray area, let me know. I've got about 2 acres of the stuff that needs thinning big time and you can have all you want. Some of these are 25-30' tall and I can't use it fast enough. If you want to start your own patch, I have a backhoe and will dig some up for you.
Does anyone know the common or scientific name of this plant? All that I can find in NE Okieland is giant sand reed (Arundo donax) which is not the same stuff. Just wondering if its mainly a southern species?
