Hate it that your motor is still giving troubles but better now than later. Was the trash so thick that it was a problem with your lines?

Made a trip to Greenwood this morning with Ray. Got to the landing and could not get motor to crank. Going back to the shop tomorrow. We just used the trolling motor and fished to around 12:30 and headed in. Loaded up and got lunch and headed home. Total fish caught was 4 or 5 white bass and perch. We were pulling 1/8 ounce jigs at 1.0 mph. Water is stained with some floating trash. Don

Sorry about the boat trouble. Thanks for the report though!
Butch the trash was minimal I don't think we ever had any rods get tangled with trash. Lake is very fish able.

Fish tremble at the sound of my name
In addition to the Merc not wanting to crank, on my first attempt at a picture my camera battery died. Had to rely on the crappy phone camera. Here is one of Don with a fish so we can prove we went, also a shot of the rods not bending, which we saw a lot of this morning. Actually the weather was not bad. I was never cold and by noon I was taking off some layers.
Still beats not fishing, even if the catching was sparse. The restaurant at the landing had a lunch special listed as: homemade vegetable soup, grilled cheese, drink and 1 refill. One of my favorite cold weather lunches so i ordered it. The waitress came by and filled our glasses a couple of times so I figured the must not really mean 1 refill. Then the waitress asked if I wanted a refill and I looked at my glass which was almost full, and said "nope, I'm good". She looked at me and said "I meant the soup. You get a refill of the soup." Don and I agreed we had never seen a refill on an entree before, except at a buffet. Anyway I said why not, and then fought to stay awake on the ride home.
All's well that ends well.
Mark 1:17 ...I will make you fishers of men
S-town we were at the upper end. Water color is dingy but not bad. Talked to one other boat that had 3 crappie. Next trip I am going to try around the state park and see if it is better. I still got my other boat so I am not dead in the water just want to get this one fixed so I can do some striper and cat fishing.
Good report and a couple of good pictures. I'm glad y'all had a good time. Sounds like the food alone was worth the trip.
A safe trip back home is a great trip. Good to see y'all were able to get on the lake a little while and catch a few fish. It is a pain to have motor problems and I hope they get it going this time around. Thanks for the report Don.
