I'll start collecting buckets too! I'll get the guys I work with to collect them for me when I'm not there. All I can say is you better use them if I collect them. My yard can't hold to much more before I go to the dog house. :Rofl I'll donate to if we need it. Who's going to be ram rod over this? I'll help cut and haul BB, I have a 6x13 trailer with 18" sides with steps it will haul a lot of BB. I've never cut BB what do you use? Chain saw, Hand branch saw.
I forgot, one thing. Brett can help and donate but he can't have the numbers, I don't want this to be a waste of time. He seems to kill off any fish near him.
Wish I was close enough to help but to far away. Here is a suggestion on cutting Bo. I have a Still 4 stroke heavy duty weed eater with straight shaft. I bought a saw blade to fit it that has chain saw teeth on it. That baby will knock down a stand of Bo before you can think about it. If some one has a goods tought eater might look into that. I was kinda leaning toward Grady pulling this out. He started it . But I will help out anyway I can. Got a few buckets at the shop needing a home. Need somewhere to put these together for sure. I will ask around to see if somebody is willing to loan us a build site. Ya' ll start askin around please. How bout that Grady. Now what is next ?
John Dang if I know that's why I started the discussion, I didn't know where to start.
My place is over 45 minute from the lake so it's too far, plus the better half put her foot down about having bamboo on the property she's worried it will take over the place.
Turkey foot can you at least point us in the direction we need to go? How full do we need to fill a 5 gallon pail? I know concrete gets lighter after it's in the water for a time.
I wonder if we could buy chunks of steel for anchors, Do you think it would be cheaper than concrete and pail?
You can cut bamboo with a chainsaw like a hot knife thru butter. When we built the condos we filled the buckets just about full, however we had a concrete mixer and wheel barrows. In my experience making my own, I usually use a 50 lb bag of quickrete and about 1 gallon of water minimum. That will get a bucket half full or better. We really need flat ground to let the buckets sit still for a few hours. These are bad to lean and fall over but the first few hours until the concrete sets are critical or it will spill out and have to start over. Some will fall over no matter what but if the concrete has set, then it's no big deal.
Another suggestion would be to get permission to drop these so someone out and about doesn't make a phone call and we have some explaining to do! I'm not opposed to dropping brush at night but this can be time consuming and daylight would really help with a lot of these to drop.
