    Default Santee Fishing

Just wondering if fishing on Lake Marion has gone south!!!!! Have not seen any reports or discussions regarding lake conditions, fishing reports, etc. since before all the rain. Wanted to make a day trip down that way early December. Info anyone?????

Once the water settled from the massive flood in early October the crappie fishing was very good. Unfortunately, a second and third massive influx of high, muddy water has made it into the Santee Cooper system totally shutting down the bite. The lake remains at, or near full pool. Water color is slightly stained in the main lake, near normal in the creeks. I do expect, if water levels drop to around two feet down and settles. The fish should begin biting in their normal winter haunts.
