Catfish/Striper Bait on Wateree???

Looking for some shad or herring for tomorrow, live or fresh or even frozen. Where can I get some on the Winnsboro/Fairfield side?

Gonna be on a pier, only got a 4" gizzard and a bunch of tiny threadfins last time I went for a couple dozen casts.

do not know anyone in that area.you can try throwing around public ramps in your area also.try looking up Jamie k outdoors in fort lawn

C and B outfitters on 34 has frozen shad. Gizzard bags and a big ole threadfin wrapped in clingfilm. Doesn't hurt to use big minnows, publix shrimp, or a diced up hook swallowed bream.

Jimmy Jones 1-803-377-7317 has shad and bluebacks. He is on Hy 321 just north of Chester.

Id stay away from from the frozen stuff if you could,when it thaws it has a rotten texture.I'd just as soon use a veinna sausage than a frozen shad,,that way if the fish dont bite it you can eat the rest of the veinna sausages!.Joe Varnadore Bait is probally the closest to the lake he is on 97 in great falls,803-242-4611 or 803 291 1805,,There mabey 5 minutes from the fishing creek dam...Another option would be JamieKs in fort lawn 803 872-7020,he sells live shad and has a well stocked store if you ned anything else,lead,hooks ,etc...hope this helps...

If you're coming off I-77, make sure you take highway 200. The bridge on highway 97 between 77 and Great Falls is washed out. I made that mistake a few weeks ago and had to back up and start over.
