As many of you know, Lake Wylie has recovered from severe drought conditions.
This may lead the Wylie novice think he/she should perhaps venture out onto Lake Wylie to try your hand at catching fish.
I urge you to wait until Spring or next Summer when it is safer.
Leave the fantastic fall crappie gathering to the professionals.
This has been a BBW Public Service Announcement
Thank you

LOL you found that if no one else is fishing, the fish are easy to find and catch![]()

I'm old and I do watch a lot of fishing shows. I have not yet sunk to watching golf. I hope I never do. I had actually taken the Bimini top off the boat for a run up 77, filled the old truck with gas, and was going to Wateree tomorrow for a striper hunt. Stumpjumper posted about a tourney with 175 boats and I changed my mind. I've been sitting in the honey hole and they turn those fools loose at Clearwater and it was a better ride than Thunder Road. 100 boats coming by at 70 mph!

I made that same mistake on a slightly foggy morning. I heard the airhorn and then heard all the engines start blasting off. I still had all my lines out and fired up the big motor and headed for the shoreline and gave my shad a ride. Visibility was not great and there was no way theyy could have stopped before either running me or my planer boards over. It is fun to watch a blast off like that when you are on the hill but will scare the crap out of you on the water.
