Fished Santee both Thursday and Friday. The winds were a major issue on both days but like the Hartwell post, it didn't hurt the fishing. The fish weren't everywhere, but the areas that held fish, held bunches of them. I caught good numbers, and good quality on both days. Brush and grass both held fish, with brush in the 12 to 15 foot range the best. Jigs caught most of the early morning fish, with minnows dominating the midday bite. Limit catches were made both days, with around 100 total fish caught per day. Many of the crappie still sported their dark colors leaving me to believe they have only recently left the shallows.
