Default anyone ever been to Saluda Lake?

my fishing buddy Josh likes to go to alot of the dnr ponds and small lakes that arent as heavily fished. He was talking about going to Saluda Lake but I dont know how the fishing is there because if memory serves me right the dam broke several years ago and they drained the whole thing. I reminded him of this and we are going to go to Greenwood instead Monday morning. If anyone does have any good input on this place though Josh and I will check it out another time.

Haven't been up there in about 5 years, but I think it's fine. They dredged it years back, but be careful towards the upper end. It did get shallow in a hurry. Watch the docks, most have brush, and we use to get good numbers up there, but most were 8-9 inch fish. We use to hit it early March, look around docks!

The public ramp is only 22 ft in the water. So be extremely careful if putting in a larger boat!

Haven't fished there in a long time but I do remember you need to keep and eye on the depth finder because of changing water depths. If it has been dredged recently that may not be the problem any longer. We did catch some crappie though, mostly by cruising until we found brush. Good luck.

Was there last year and it is still shallow! Bass fishing can be a ton of fun there but haven't caught any numbers of good size crappie. A lot of small fish but if the pleasure boaters are out you can about forget fishing the main runs. Deepest part of the lake is only around 35' at the dam. The lake has never been drained as I know of
