    Default Secession 8-20-14

Well it was hot again today!!
The lake is looking great, water color is stained just right. The bite wasn't hot but was steady on the bottom in the 12 to 14' depth. The water temps started at 83 and topped out at 88 at 2:00. A dark jig worked best early and a then changed of to a all chartreuse jig. Had to keep the jigs close to the bottom and the bites were on the soft side. Had to cover a lot of water to find the biting fish.

Fished until me and Rosco couldn't take the heat any longer. Caught 22 crappie, all in the 10'' to 12'' range and brought home 12 to cook this week.

Must be that time of the year for turtles, seen a few pairs today.

Good report. Glade you had some luck with the fish. That was a good catch for this time of year. Hoping for some cooler temps in coming weeks.

Your live well looks as if it has dry ice in there to keep them cool. Looks like a good trip. Roscoe will scale that fish if you let him.

Hard to keep them cool on these hot days. Sure are looking forward for some cool days. It was nice today without the boat traffic. Only seen two other boats today and both had fishermen.

Good deal Stump, glad you was able to find a nice mess willing to cooperate. Congrats on the catch and the report/pics.
