Default A Little Santee August Action

The high water has slowed things down a bit, but with a little patients and determination a nice box of fish can still be caught. Over the last couple of weeks I havn't posted anything, with all reports sounding the same, but the fishing has remained decent. Catches of limits or near limits are the norm with live bait over brush being the best technique. Rooty Tooty jigs are still snaring a few, with Blue and Chartreuse being the best color combo. Mid to shallow depth brush has been best. The waters temps have cooled to low 80's which has moved some fish to the backs of the creeks. I don't expect that to last to long with the hot temps back in the forecast again. No pics have been taken other than these two from this past Saturday, which by the way was a stellar day with some good quality fish caught.

A fine specimen that fell prey to my offering.

Another good one that met its doom.

Thanks for posting the report Tim, it's great to hear you are still on the fish. A box full of those crappie will put a smile on any crappie fisherman face They are calling for high temps again this week but I still hope to get the boat out for some crappie fishing this week. Been to long but I have been kayak fishing a lot lately with a salt water trip last weekend, tons of fun!!

Glad you are still on the fish. I won't begin to tell you all the bad luck Gerald and I had, but suffice to say we did not do to good at Wylie.

Im im sorry to hear of y'all's woes, I know you guys were looking forward to getting out and catching a few. It wasn't the best week of fishing, but not the worst either. Maybe you guys luck will change for the better next time around.
