Spare Tire Carrier

I have a 2005 Bass Tracker TX 175 and want to mount a spare tire to the trailer. Have any of you Tracker owners done this and if so, what type/brand of mount did you use?

I have a 2000 Tracker Pro 165 and I had one of the "U" bolts that they make to just bolt to the trailer from a previous boat. I laid the spare across the trailer where the frame splits out to each side and ran the U bolt through and around the frame and tightened it down. I have a locking cable to secure it from theft. I can post a picture if you like when it is light outside.
I never liked the original side mounting of the spare with just the u bolt but on this trailer the tire lays across the frame of the trailer and is very stable, It is back from the winch mount and does not interfere with the loading or launching process. Matter of fact, it is a wide stable base to stand on if you have to walk out on your trailer for some reason.

Pictures as you requested. Two from the top side show the U-Bolt through the rim and the bicycle cable lock. 3rd picture show how it looks from underneath, with the U-bolt over the frame. Pretty simple really, but works and tire is out of way and also is not directly in the sun sitting under the boat when it is parked.

I got a spare tire carrier at Northern Tool for my 04 Tracker PT175 trailer, no issues and about $25 or less for the carrier.

Not trying to be a know it all, but be careful mounting spare tires horizontally. Water may not fully drain from around the edge of tire/rim, and corrosion can take off there. Better to mount vertically if gets dipped in the lake at the ramp. FYI.

Mine is above the water line when I launch so even the bottom does not get wet. It is up under the boat so it would be rare for rain to get to it. So far I've not had a problem with it and thankfully have not had to use it.
The only flat I've ever had on a boat, the rim separated and wrapped around the hub. Had to use the lug wrench to pry it off. Soon as I got home I replaced the other rim too. No fun on the Interstate with a flat.

Discovered I might not be able to mount my spare horizontally. The 2005 trailer has the running lights on top of the trailer and not on the side. And to move the tre past the lights, I don't have a rail to mount the U bolt to. Looks like I will have to go with a side mount. Really would have like to mount it horizontally but don't want to mess with moving the lights to the side.
