Default Fun Day at the Lake 6/21

Invited some buddies up to the lake this weekend for some fellowship, fun, food, and fishing. One buddy that fished with my uncle was home for a few weeks from West Point Military Academy and wanted to eat and catch some fish. I had another buddy with me that had not been crappie fishing in several years. The pressure was on because I forgot to bring fish out the freezer in case we needed them. Surprisingly everyone popped up Saturday morning and was ready to go. We decided to have a 2 boat ultimate one pole challenge. My uncle and I split up to be the boat driver for each boat since we knew where the brush was. We had lines in the water by 7 am. I was worried that the killer action we had been having would slow with the warmer water temps. It started out a little slower after the first 2 hrs we had around 10 fish, my partner was struggle with the finesse method we were using. At this time we gained another person in our boat, my buddy's dad who was fishing with Bob wanted to join in on the action. They protested being that his dad makes a living fishing we said it was fair bc my partner at the time struggled for most of the day. We then continued fishing and found them we pulled up to one pile and hit the mother load. We fished on til about 11:15 and called it quits cause we had enough for supper. We left them biting and FINALLY got Jeremy a crappie before we left. He laughed saying I barely stood a chance with Roland in the boat and then we add someone that makes a living bass fishing and I really don't stand a chance. Anyways we weighed our fish and we had around 25 pounds and my uncles boat had 19 pounds as a total catch. The action was not as hot as the past few weeks but it was still pretty good once we discovered the fish were hugging the bottom. Did not get a total count of the number of fish but I would say we kept around 60 fish between the 2 boats. Fish were caught on minnows and fish stalker slab tail jigs. We cleaned them and enjoyed them by frying them that night.

Awesome catch Roland, looks like you and the Unc put those boys on some fine fish, and plenty of them. The brush bite is kicking right now, and should remain good until late fall. Thanks for the post and great pics, Congrats to all
