    Default Santee June 12-13

Got out this past week for my usual Thursday and Friday fish off. As is the norm, fished Thursday solo, took my better half on Friday. Thursday I vertically jig fished brush, the bite continued to be slow, but some nice are being caught. Friday me and my peep fished the same general areas, but this time minnows were used, under a float, and tight lined. Pretty much the same results were had both days, with minnows catching more smaller fish that had to be culled through. A limit catch was had on Thursday, we ended up with around 30 keepers on Friday. Darker colored Rooty Tooty 309's were used in the morning, switching to lighter colored ones as the sun got up in the afternoon on Thursday. Water temps are continuing to rise, with 87 being about average. The lack of substantial rain has the water clearing up in all the shallow water areas, but some decent fish are still being caught in waters as shallow as 6 feet, with 12 to 14 feet being best.

Good to see that crappie bite with good crappie are still going well for y'all. Clear water seems to be all I am finding to fish but it's all good. Thanks for the report and awesome pics. Congrats on the catches.

That's the way to get em Ink. Here on the Hill for me the brush pile bite in the creeks was off last week and the fish have gotten smaller. I think they are moving out to the main lake. May be about over for a while here. Thanks for the report and pics.
