Default Uncle Remus's Resort and Perch Guide Service

Robert (Uncle Remus) and I had talked several times about a perch trip to his place at Wateree. We finally got together today for a great trip. We got on the water at 6 AM and were greeted with this sunrise.

We soon had a Chinese fire drill going and the minnows disappeared quickly. I caught a good many using a Flexit Spoon and then I tried some of the Gnats that one of the guys from the Miss/Al/Ark area sells and it was game on again.

I gave Robert a set and we hauled them in two at the time until we frankly just got tired of catching fish and knew we had a cleaning job ahead so we went back to his place and used his wonderful set up on the dock to clean around 100 perch.

Somehow I got some of the pictures in the wrong order and I can't seem to remove them so, one is a pic of Robert's lake cabin, one of him running the motor and then the Ipilot on his new fishing pontoon. I really got spoiled with all the room to walk around and not stumble over everything.
It was a great morning and a fast and furious 4 hours of catching fish. Felt like I was back in Florida catching Oscars again.
Thanks Robert for a great trip.

Hey, that was a good trip. I'm jealous of you both. Glad you guys got hooked up last night for this trip. I know you would have kicked you own bottom if you didn't get to go. Good pictures of the set up and hotel. LOL Thanks for sharing.

Good job on the perch Ray. I really enjoy catching them. Lots of fun. Not bad table fare either.

Looks like a great time on Wateree with a good load of perch caught. Congrats on the day fishing and time spent on the lake.

That is a great looking lake, I seen it yesterday for the first time and the water color looked very good and really like the grasses growing around the banks. Didn't have the time to fish but did stop in at the Dutchman's for a BLT dinner

Great report thanks. What little I fished Wateree, I fished for them on the main creek channel ledge. There is something about a boat with a couch that I love. Thanks again for the report. Man that is on sweet cleaning station there.
