Thanks for all support, I'm on the mobile now but I will try to post the pictures of the couple that I did catch. I launched at Taylor's and got out a little later than I wanted. The perch and blues were biting at the points near the mouth. I ended up trying the bridge after it heated up and actually finished up the minnows there. I ended up sorting through the smaller ones and found a couple 11" or better to take home. It was 20 FOW and they were biting around the 12-14 ft area. I used minnows and some dark colored jigs (purple/black). Anybody know what snakes swim and black. One was not giving up on trying to get in my boat, I ended up having to beat the thing with my net pole. It was about 3-4 ft long.

The vast majority of snakes you see in the water are harmless water snakes, but there is the occasional water moccasion and they are nasty dudes with a bad temper. Be hard to say without seeing it, but if you go with percentages it was likely a brown water snake. They look pretty dark in the water so could have appeared black.
They are only harmless if you see them and know what they are, If you step on one or stick your hand on one it the live well, don't matter what kind it is, bad things happen. :yikes
