Going to lake murray Friday for a few days.Never been before just wondering if the crappie fishing on this lake is good and any favorite color types. We are going to visit some family and just hate to leave boat at home. Thanks for any advice for a first timer.
Not dead at all. Challenging is a better way to describe it. If you find them you can do okay. If you don't find them she will hurt your feelings. I would fish the upper end of the lake, more specifically, the upper third. Not much to go on but that's about all I know to tell you.
Get the net!

Challenging is about the best word to describe Murray. At times it can be home to some of the best fishing around...other times the worst. A friend of my has nicknamed it the "chopping block" and I think thats a fairly accurate depiction LOL
The crappie fishing as of late has been good though. Fish have been caught on docks and blowdowns around the bank. The brush bite I heard was kicking off in the Big Saluda, but not much going on in the Little Saluda yet. I feel like in a week or two the fish will make their move to the brush.
Hooking up every chance I get!
where are you lunching at what part of the lake
