After spending 4 days down in Florida doing the family get away thing, it sure is nice being back home. I noticed I had 3 inches of rain in my gauge which was a welcomed sight. The tomato plants done grew another foot taller and the grass needs cutting again. With a day to kill before heading back to work tonight, I decided to head to the lake and see whats going on. The lake has risen at least a foot from where it was my last visit, with the water still cool and clear. The bite started out real slow, I was one pole jigging brush and logs with only a few fish caught the first two hours of effort. I wasn't to concerned though, like it usually does, the brush bite fired up around 10:00am. I fished until 12:30, catching 60, and keeping a nice limit of crappie. I had about a dozen fish going 1.5 or better. with the remaining fish 3/4 to a pound. The fish preferred the lighter colored Rooty Tooty 309's today, with green/white skirt, pink wing, blue head being best by far. Most fish caught were caught in 10/12 foot of water.
