Rod and reel donations
Many of you know I am a member of the Lexington Chapter of the SC Wildlife Federation. You may recall that we lost our facility of 55 years to a corporate developer with deeper pockets than ours. We have recently purchased a 12 acre tract with a small clubhouse and pond on it. The members have spent untold hours bringing it into shape to host our kids fishing events. Our first one is this Saturday and we find ourselves with more kids than we have rods and reels for. We have about 40 spincast combos that Shakespeare donated several years ago and we have patched and repaired as best we can but we now have about 15 rods with no reels. If any of you have spare closed face spincast reels or outfits you would be willing to donate, please let me know. If you are in the Cola/Lex area I can arrange to pick up from you. Otherwise I will have to depend on your generosity to mail them to me.
The kids we bring in are from shelters where they are housed to escape a bad home situation. Most have no father or male figure in their lives. They always light up at the opportunity to fish and catch a fish, most for the first time. We cook them lunch, usually hot dogs and hamburgers or a fish fry, plus home made deserts.
Here us our Facebook link if you want to know more, and if you are interested in joining us as a member we would love to have you.

PM me if you have any rods or reels to donate. May not get them for this weekend but we also host DNR fishing clinics to teach kids about fishing so we can use them anytime.
Thanks for any help.
