I think the main difference is how you are using them. I have mostly the elcheapo Pinnacle Limits for tightlining, but I have a couple of the B&N Buck's Graphite Jig Poles and there is a significant difference in the weight of the two. The B&M is much lighter and has a more sensitive tip, whereas the Limits have a parabolic flex to them.
If I was single pole jigging or casting I would much prefer the B&M because it is lighter and easier to handle. However, when I am tightlining it does not make any difference to me which I use. I don't have any over 12' either so I can't comment on the longer ones.
One thing about having uniform rod lengths and makes for tightlining is that you can see each rods variation to bite. If you have various rods with various flex and lengths, one will show a light bite different and I think you may loose some fish because of it. When they are slammin with hard bites it probably would make no difference at all because they will hang themselves.
