    Default Murray

well stayed close to the house saturday and went to murray. bad idea. only caught 4 crappie. the only thing promising is they were nice fish. 1- 1.25 2- 1.75 and
1- 2.25. we were marking fish pretty regular but couldnt get them to bite. i guess that little front put a hurting on them. My old man did hook up with a 4.75lb black bass on a 14 foot rod. that looked like fun. any one else heading to murray beware the stripers. needed to cut some fire wood sometime this weekend and should have done that yesterday cause it sure is pretty out today

I was thinking of hitting Murray Wednesday. What part of the lake were you in? I usually fish the Clouds Creek area in the spring but have not been up there in several months, Wondered if it was muddy or if it had cleared up.

I stayed further down than that ray. I was in the rocky creek area. the water there had perfect water color IMO. but i tend to like it a little dirtier than some others. water temp at daylight was lower than what i would have guessed at 49 but warmed up nicely to 53 by the end of the day. from what i hear up the river is producing more fish than where i was. i dont know about clouds in particular but have heard of good reports from the boy scout camps and even on the other side of the next bridge up tightlining. but as i said i cannot complain about the size fish i caught.

Even though the catch was few with fish that size you still had a good mess of fillets. Not a bad trip at all. Congrats.

See Brush pile, we all are suffering from a Greenwood hangover. lol My partner went to Santee today tight lining and boated a fine limit. No super large fish, but a nice average. I have heard from a few buddies, that tight lining in the rivers are producing some good catches on Murray right now in the stained water.
