    Default P.E.T. still kickin it!

Yesterday I decided to try Ray's side of the lake and went up Bear Creek to Stinking Creek. I found several bait balls and fish while trying out my newly mounted Raymarine Dragonfly. We anchored in 35' of water and proceeded to eradicate the white perch invasive species. The wife accompanied me on this endeavor and we had a good time. We caught around 50 or so but only kept about 25 selects because I am tired of filleting fish. All of the fish came on medium minnows this time, I had a few hits on the jigging spoons but didn't get a hookup all day.

I was quite anxious to try out the Dragonfly because most people here are praising the Humminbird or Lowrance units. I was tickled pink with the Dragonfly and it performed up to the standards I was hoping for. I also got to try out the Co-pilot that I purchased for the MK Powerdrive that I recently purchased and liked it a lot, but I may be able to convince the wife to upgrade to a I-pilot if MK will ever come out with a conversion that will let you use the foot pedal as well as the hand control on a PD unit.

All in all it was a great day with little wind for a change and we plan on going out again tomorrow. BTW the white perch that we deemed to small did not make it back into the water.....the seagulls had a feast.

Yep, DI, chart plotter, color sonar, speed, water temp, split screen, easy to use and navionics card. I got the navionics updates card to get the most detailed and updated information. I like it.

I was using a dropper rig with a 1/2 oz. weight on the bottom and a single dropper knot tid about a foot up with a #2 hook. We were using medium minnows, I thought about trying a double dropper and may try one tommorow because we are going again but we will be up the lake.

This is too funny. Yesterday, while Rex went to "my" side of the lake, we went to Rex's side of the lake (old Turner's landing) and also removed about 50 of the guys. We are using a similar rig except I use 2 hooks about a foot apart with a 1 oz. sinker on the bottom. Once we get into them, I only bait the bottom hook because most bites come on the bottom and they shake off the top one sometime. I have caught a 2nd one on the bare hook. I also could not get a hit on the Flexit Spoon, weird, and we used medium minnows instead of the tuffies also. I thought they would attract bigger fish but that was not the case. They are easier to handle though.
Sorry we went in opposite directions, would like to have met up with you. Looks like we were thinking alike.
