i was reading the fishable water in the crappie masters tournament and was wondering if ya''ll could tell me where the heck the 601 bridge is, i don't see it on my map, is it way way up the river or did they mean the 301 bridge.

The 601 bridge crosses the congaree river before it combines with the wateree river to form the santee. I would assume they meant the I-95/301 bridge since the 601 actually crosses the congaree river.

The 601 bridge is right out of Orangeburg heading towards St. matthews.

You can put in at 601 bridge if the landing is open. Gerald would know. That is one of the closer landings to fish Broadwater Swamp. The DOT was redoing the bridge and the landing was closed but it may be open now.
I agree with the others that they meant the 301/I95 bridge. Ink would know for sure, that is his fishing grounds.

The 601 bridge is located between hwy 267 and hwy 47 on 601 hwy, their are three bridges here in this location, the larger bridge has the landing under the bridge, the road to landing is on the south lane of 601 hwy. Yes this is where the fishable water stops. This tournment is for Lake Marion only the lower lake is not fishable water. I,m pretty sure the landing is open now.

The landing is open, but about a month ago when I went by there it was a mess with construction debris and little parking. I would go to Low falls, Packs or Stumphole if you want to fish the upper end.

Yes, they did mean the 601 bridge as the cut off point. The reason being is to allow the headwaters (swamp) to be included as fishable waters.
