I just ordered one and may add the I-pilot or co-pilot later on if it works out.

I have a DuraCraft 1750 Bay center console with the mercury 50 4 stroke. I would have preferred a 24 volt system but I do not see enough room in the back to put the extra battery. I did have a 74 pound thrust Maxxum
on my 97 Straros 285 Pro Elite and it did a jamup job, I am very partial to Minn Kota due to the graphite shaft. I will have a 55 lb thrust Minn Kota Edge hand control for sale when this one arrives, used it about 6 times at the most. BTW I have the 31 group deep cycle ultima battery.

In much wind you may have a problem trying to keep a constant speed as your boat probably catches a good bit of wind as it sits on top of the water instead of like a V-hull does. I made do just fine with a 55# V2 on a 16' Carolina Skiff though. Usually when the wind got up I quit fishing cause it made the boat start bouncing too much in all the ripples (waves). If it's a steady wind coming from a constant direction you can always put out drift socks and go with the wind though.

I have had 2 of them, still using one of them, been in the water almost every week since 05, I got the remote on my wrist and love it, wouldn't have anything else! I have wore out 2 of the coil wires going to the head, 1 board in the base, 1 motor, I repaired it each time my self. When the motor went out, it melted the wires going up the shaft. I just rebuilt the hold thing this past summer, like new right now. I use mine all day long most days.

I have one on our 24' pontoon, and it does a great job. You won't regret purchasing one of these!

I have mine on a 16' war eagle and like it. I also have the co-pilot so that I can run it from the back of the boat. The only negative is the time that it takes to turn. It moves my boat very well.
