    Default Boat's Ready!

Two new 29 series trolling batteries are installed (early Christmas present), the freezer is chunked full of deer meat, just finished converting front of boat back to spider rig setup, spider poles re-rigged with 3/4 oz weights, new minner bucket. Now, just a couple days off work with sub-wind advisories or torrential rainfall. Gonna need PLENTY of help finding 'em again since I havent fished since probably last July/August but looking forwards to getting back on the hill again. Anybody else thinking about fishing this time of the year?

Good to hear you are ready to get after them again. Fish are biting when you find them and the bite seems to be good at all the lakes right now from the reports I'm getting. Been a week since I been on the water, seems the rain has been falling every day and the river is up and muddy again but I plan to fish tomorrow if the wind stays low. Look in the deeper waters for the fish stacked on the bottom and drop a bait down to see if they will bite. The bites have been on the lite side but they fight like crazy when you catch em. Good luck buddy

Welcome back Butch, some adverse weather conditions over the last couple weeks, along with some home projects have slowed me down for a while as well. Tight lining the river channel will be your best bet, turn those sonars on and let them direct you to the bounty waiting below. Good luck, though I don't think you'll need it, as I feel certain you will hunt them down in short order.

Glad to hear you are up and running again Butch. I have slowed down some but still fish when I can. Planning on fishing Murray wed if wind is not blowing to hard and if it is blowing I will try striper as they are biting real good right now from elbow bend to up in the rivers. Greenwood is a mess right now with all the rain we have had and hoping it will clear up some. Went last Friday and caught a few and everyone had developing eggs in them so it want be long for the bite to pick-up.

I agree with others. Anyone who has followed Butch's posts in the past know the crappie are in for a rough time. Glad you are back in business. Good luck with the weather, it sure has been fickle.
