    Default Hartwell night fishing 10-22

I got a late start yesterday but was able to get on the water at quarter to 7. I put in at Brown Road and used the trollin motor to get me moving while I untangled my rods and got some minnows on the hooks. I drifted over some stumps and brush looking for bait or fish on the fish finder. I had marked several bait balls but no fish. As I was drifting out from under the bridge I hooked a crappie. I pulled back over the same area and got another one. Decided to drop anchors under the bridge. Water was 15 foot deep and 66 degrees. The bite was slow but did catch 2 more crappie, a couple cats, a nice 3lb LM and even a gar. 3 of the crappie around 10in and one at 14. Fish caught between 8 and 12 foot deep. I pulled anchors at 10 and drifted back towards the boat ramp with lights in the water and minnows on the hooks. I didnt get any more bites but had bait under the boat all the way back. It was a nice night and had the lake all to myself. It was only about the 3rd or 4th time Ive been out in several months so Im just happy I kept the skunk out of the boat.

Nice catch and report. Good to hear you were able to get on the lake for a nightstalk. That bridge always seem to hold some fish, good to see a report on fishing it at night. Congrats on the catch
