A little late on getting this report in, but better late than never I reckon. Me and daddy hit the water Saturday morning in hopes of finding some biting fish...like I had figured...the bite was slow to obsolete. A lot of the haunts that normally hold fish seem deserted. I believe the fish are still there, but just are not actively feeding for whatever reason. We covered a lot of water and convinced a decent mess to bite our jigs. We ended up keeping 13 crappie and 2 bream.
Saturday afternoon our nephews came over to spend the night with me and Chris. When Chris asked them what they wanted to do the oldest replied..."I want to go fish and eat the fish we catch for supper!" That sounded like a stellar idea to me tooWe took the boys out with a couple cages of crickets and some bream poles and caught us a mess to eat. They had a blast! Neither of them have been around fishing a whole lot in their young lives and when the cork would go down it was quite a site to see the little ones slinging a bream through the air on the end of a 13 foot pole!
I had a blast taking them out and I was glad we were able to find a few bream willing to bite. Chris caught a nice shellcracker....the youngest is holding it in the picture below...
