Default Night fishing in shallow water?

Has anyone ever tried it? Im camping here at Baker creek state park in Mccormick, SC. We have been tying up to the bridge at night with limited success. I have a spot I been catching 20 or so nice slabs in everyday casting jigs but the water is mostly less than 7 foot deep in the spot Im talking about. Has anyone ever fished this shallow at night with the lights out around the boat?

heck give it a try i have anchored 10 to 13 fow and did real good set your lines out at all depths and see what you get if you dont have ante luck look for a slopping bank say 5ft to 20ft anchor at the 20 ft depth drop your lights and get it dun. good luck looking froward to a good report.

I agree with Jimmy. I have fished in 12' on a nightstalk and did very well. If you have no luck in the shallow water just back out to around the 25' depth. Hope you have a great catch while camping.Thumbs Up

I'd try fining water a little deeper than 7' that's closeby where youve been catching. Good luck and be sure to report how it goes.

During the spawn, I have caught fish in 3' fow at night but usually it was a good bite from sunset until about 10pm and then they would back out. Matter of fact one of the biggest fish I've ever caught was caught on a cork near a lighted dock in less than 3fow

i anchor in the deeper wate and either throw a lighted cork set about 18in deep or fish a down line or two two or three ft down. youd be suprised how many you will catch fishing shallow in the deeper water
