Would this tdx be compatible with a 798c or 798ci both have side image and dual beam no down scan. Also does this come with trolling motor mount.. Thanks

Fishfryed- I think it would work but I don't think 798 is capable of using the 800 MHZ. I use to have a 797 so don't know if I remember correctly as its been awhile.

My old setup was 797 up front and 997 at console. The transducer mount on the one I am selling is for transom mount.

Correct on both counts ...

*The XHS 9 HDSI 180 T can be used on the 798 ...
*The XHS 9 HDSI 180 T will not add 800kHz functionality to the 798 ...

The 455kHz frequency used in the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T on the 798 will be somewhat better (than the stock XNT 9 SI 180 T) ...due to the longer SI piezoes in the XHS 9 HDSI 180 T ...

Thanks for all the great info. I did some research and found this on the same transducer.. And this is what it said: used on my Humminbird 798ci HD si - trolling motor mounted and works great. FYI-One thing I noticed was after installing and I also updated the firmware on my unit I had to do a full factory reset before it worked properly. Now it works great and has a little more detail than the stock transducer that came with my 798ci HD si... Would I have to reset my unit to make it work? I don't have the HD unit

The XHS 9 HDSI 180 T will work on the 798 plug and play without updating software ... (That person had some other gremlin going on and updating the software just "seemed" like it may have fixed his gremlin) ...

HB recommends always Restore Factory Defaults before and after any software update regardless of issues before or after the update process ...

Pic of transducer that is for sale. Absolutely no nicks in cable and the shallow scratches on face of ducer are the only sign of any kind of wear.
