Only 2 lakes close to Ft. Meyers an 1hr. away that's Okeechobee an Trafford. The big o has a lot of camp grounds and rental on the west side.

Lakeland has lots of phosphate pits and cheap prices on real estate. Tenoroc is here too.

Take a hard look at Camp Mack, my favorite place. Lots of big lakes to fish and big fish to catch.

2 campgrounds in the Deland area are Highland Park fish camp, right on the St.Johns River and Clark Family campground in Orange City. Both worth talking to.

Many of the state parks rent cabins depending on how long your looking to stay.

Where is Camp Mack Hotpepper??

Camp Mack is Lake Wales area. Mack is on Lake Kissimmee - 34,000 plus acres of water, plus acess to lake hatchinaw - lake cypress and through the toho canal into
west lake toho another 16,000 acres
they have camp grounds, cabins also motel 863 696-1108

Also on Lake Kissimmee is Camp Lester, across fence from Camp Mack
they also have cabins, small camp ground etc.

Also 1/2 mi from Camp Mack & Camp Lester is Kissimmee State Park with plenty
of camping sites, although most are already filled until April.

Lakes Wales is in center of State of Florida junction of hwy 60 & hwy 27

Grape hammock on the south end of the lake has had clearer and deeper wanter as of late. Google search Grape Hammock Fish camp. Cabins are clean, less crowded than mack and better rates... Ill be there all next weekend .. look for the lights west of brahma island at night and you done found em
