Default ISO Stainless prop for a 2003 Mercury 90 2 stroke

    Looking for a stainless prop for a 2003 Mercury 90 2 stroke. Mercury chart says a Laser II with a 19 to 20 pitch. It's 13-1/4 dia. with a 15 spline shaft.

What did you have on it before? I'm running a 17 pitch now. With a tail fin and have plenty of hole shot running about 38 mph wide open throttle. One local marina said a 22 was too much load on the motor?? I'm just looking for a little more top end without losing my hole shot. Thanks for the help!

22 is the only prop ive had, when i bought my boat new from jacos marine thats what they put on it.when i first got it it came out of the hole pretty good ,but since ive loaded it down its alittle slugish out of the hole,5 batteries,4 bank onboard charger 40 lbs i believe ,and all my gear.

they are prolly rite but it depends on how you have it loaded too. Bet with that tail fin thing on there it may not be too much if you could find someone who has one you could try. I like the lift of the Laser II props, lifts mine better than any I have tried just haven't run across what I want.

I run a 22p Laser II on mine. I've also got a 21p Trophy Plus and a 23p PTO4 that I run on it. I can turn the 21 and 22 to 5800 rpm, which is higher than recommended. My 2008 is supposed to run from 5000 to 5500.

It all depends on your hull and how heavy a load you're packing around. It's hard to dial in on a prop without a tach, if you don't have one.
