Well, getting closer. After the latest update the User Data has “custom” or “angler” as choices. Custom gives you more options than Angler but neither show an “upper” or “lower.” Guess I will keep working at it. Not sure what eliminating upper range looks like but it probably is already toggled off. Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it.

Here is one of my screenshots with the top 5 feet of the water column removed. I'll try to look on my unit tonight to see how to get to that option.

Ok, here is what I see.
Turn unit on,
Menu,
Simulator,
Exit,
I then went to the 2d - DI split screen but any 2d or DI screen should work.
Press the menu button twice, go over to Setup tab,
Go down to user mode,
Select - Custom,
Exit out, I think it is exit twice,
Press the menu button once more, you should see this screen and then have the ability to adjust the upper water column,

I will try it at 0700 tomorrow morning. That is when I will be on the water chasing my elusive prey which is why I am trying to learn the best settings to do so. Worked perfectly. When I quit looking for advanced or some other option it was easy. I now have a choice of Custom or Angler with Custom being the old Advanced. I set upper range at zero and tried 50 feet for lower range. Did not like the screen so changed the lower to Auto. Perfect! Thanks Roy, Rickie, and others for your kind attention. Beverages are on me if we ever get together. Dennis
