    Default Fish ID works great

Another thanks to Rickie for his insight and suggestion to turn this feature on with my Helix 10 Mega. Here is a pic of it in action. Unfortunately they would not bite so do not exactly know what they were. Name: IMG_0155.jpg

They were over a brush pile but moving. Chart speed was at 1 as we were spot locked.

I would really like to know just how good fish ID really is. I have read not to use it so much in the past. I sure wish someone would make a Fish ID vs. fish arch only sonar comparison show proof to really know if it works or not. I would hope to think that the fish ID is not just a gimmick that all the sonar companies are selling.
Be safe and good luck fishing

Wayne P over at bbc did a great write up about Humminbird fish ID and the algorithms they use seem to be pretty darn good. I very rarely....if ever....use 2d sonar so I have very little experience with it.

    Default Fish ID works great

I stumbled across fish Id and it helped me find a depth to push minnows. It’s just one of those things you either like or don’t. I’ve caught fish using it. Mainly if I see a school of bait, it has given stronger returns on the bigger fish.
