Thread: Mounting SI 'Ducer on War Eagle transom

I am planning to get a SI Helix soon, but was wondering where the best place to mount the transducer on the transom. If you look at the pic there are concave "wings" on each side, which if mounted there (like my regular sonar transducer is now), it won't read true would it? I'm thinking I need to mount it on the flat part, but will that be too close to the motor?
