Default upgrading an existing helix gen 1 to mega via networking

I have an aluminum Xpress 20 hdsc with a 150 merc use for crappie, catfish and ducks. I currently have a 798 hdsi mounted at the console with the Si ducer on a transducer shield jackplate mount. I also have a power cord base at the bow and a US2 adapter cable for my terrova. I also have a trolling motor mount SI ducer for it in a box but have neglected to install on the terrova. The 798 has sticky buttons, the transom cable has been spliced and the pic is subpar but it does work and has tons of waypoints in it. The bow SI ducer is also spliced but worked well before I upgraded from edge to terrova and did not reinstall it.

Because of budget restraints, a new 10 si Mega is not in the cards right now. What is most important to me at this time is bigger screen size, proper install of new ducer and higher resolution. What I would like to do is install a 10 generation 1 at the console on a 2.25 inch ram mount with the torq wrench. Install the included 10 SI ducer on the existing transducer mount on my jackplate. I will then install a ram ball base at the bow and use the existing power cord and install the 798 Tm ducer on the terrova if compatible so I can get more than just 2d at the bow. If not compatible then just go with the us2 adapter. This will give me most of what I want at two locations from one unit and allow me to remove the whole unit for duck season. The terrova is on a quick release plate with a lock.

    Questions
what special parts do I need or can I parse from what I already have?
Will the 798 TM ducer work with the 10 si gen 1 to give me DI?
Does the 10 si generation come with Chirp?

Is there any reason or sensible way of networking the 798 somehow or should I trash it.

If down the road I realize I really want Mega imaging can I purchase a 7 si g2n and network its high frequency mega imaging to the 10 generation 1 screen?

    The 798 xducer (XNT 9 SI 180 T) will work with the HELIX 10 SI G1 ...

12v power is needed for the 798 ... GPS is internal if it's the 798ci ("i" indicates internal GPS) ... If there's no "i" you will need an external GPS puck...

HELIX 10 G1 is not CHIRP (only HELIX 12 in G1 came with 2d CHIRP) ...

The 798 must be the 798ci HD (HD indicates Ethernet in this model) to be Ethernet connected to the HELIX 10 ...

Even if the 798 is not Ethernet capable, there is advantage in having a full unit screen for mapping ...

HELIX 7 G2N is not Mega (only HELIX 9, 10, and 12 SI G2N models are Mega) ...

Mega cannot be shared to any units except HELIX G2N and ONIX ...

Rumor is that a software update is coming for the Helix units that will allow more sharing between the Mega units and the G1 Helix models ......Even if they don't do that, I wouldn't keep the sharing from buying one of the new Mega units.
