    Default Humminbird 1197 Repair Question

Anyone know somewhere to repair one of these units. It has water damage and Humminbird Customer Service said they no longer service this unit. They still service 1198’s & 1199’s.

I have never seen any place advertised that works on finders. When I have talked to folks it's because they can't buy the parts to repair. You might go over to BassBoatcentral and ask. If there is anyone out there they would know. They have a dedicated Humminbird page. And maybe Rickie will see this and he might have some info. I know you don't want to hear this but if they did repair them you could probably take that money and a little more and buy a good latter model unit the way prices are falling with all this new stuff coming out.

    Try SRC Electronics

They used to do some Lowrance repair, but I don't know about Bird.

It's tough to repair them because parts are only available from scrapped units.

I think one would be better off placing an ad in the classifieds looking for a non-working unit to salvage parts from ...
    -----

If the issue is the unit suddenly stopped working - there's a chance that 1 of the ribbon cables has come loose and can be easily be reinserted after disassembly ...
