Took a bunch of snapshots at Lake Talquin yesterday and thought I would post. Per other member's guidance, I reviewed them and was surprised how many fish I see now that I didn't see then. Will post more here in a few.
Device is a HB HELIX 9 MEGA SI
Cool shots ...

Ricky, what settings do I need to fool with to better pick up fish returns and their shadows?
Those are really clear pictures.does your g2 have sharpness setting?
Yes, but I have it set at default - zero I think. I played with sensitivity and contrast till "it looked right" to me.
I have the SI mounted at the console on a RAM mount and a HB 859 DI unit at the bow. I could see big schools of fish on the DI unit, turn around in the chair to peek at the SI unit and the fish weren't easily seen.
JOHN DOE,IT WILL ALWAYS BE EASIER TO SEE FISH ON DI THAN SI BECAUSE SAY DI IS SET AT 30 FEET AND SI AT 75 FEET ON EACH SIDE SO THAT WILL MAKE THE SIZE OF THE FISH ABOUT 1/4 THE SIZE OF DI
Shorter SI range will make all echoes larger on the display ...
Contrast and Sharpness higher will make fish echoes brighter...with the caveat of making the overall image grainier ...
Darker pallete choices will also make fish stand out better ...
Higher Chart speed will elongate all echoes making fish easier to see ...with the caveat of blurring the bottom details somewhat ...
