    Can I share waypoints this way, and am I correct that I cannot share waypoints from a helix 12 to a 898 via ethernet

    Waypoints will share between any HB unit that has an Ethernet connection ...

    good, i got a pile of points on one of my 898's, i would hate to loose, i hear you can save them on to a sd card but im not sure how?

    Go here---> HUMMINBIRD: OPERATION/PRODUCT MANUALS

    and under the General Reference Guide Section you will find Waypoint Management Guide and Waypoint Sharing Guide. Everything you need is in Waypoint Management Guide. Just installed Helix 12 and moved all waypoints from 898 to new Helix. Easy Peasy.
